Am I missing something?

Whilst I personally don’t think Vaughan is worth the possible grief was it not reported we showed interest in him some weeks ago?

Now, he’s supposedly only been offered 100k by another club?

What was the supposed interest some weeks ago, it must have been BS?
Dogs offered Vaughan to us for Hunt and Miller. We laughed at it

none at the moment, i dare say we will re-visit and teams like the knights and tigers will have a play
Seems like the clubs have had a chat and decided Voorn's better off out of the NRL. Will be interesting to see if a club breaks the picket line

they claim the no ******** tape yet teams were falling over themselves to get JDB, barba had lifelines, carney had 4 clubs, AFB and Lodge will secure contracts, dylan walker ect

but vaughan, who has never assaulted a male or female but has an attitude problem, will be run out of the game

Totally agree about the clubs and NRL's standards... but Vuurn did worse than assault someone - he made the NRL look bad. Petey V was pretty p*ssed about what went down with that BBQ, with it threatening to shut the season down and all, and his attitude since doesn't exactly show he's smart enough to pull his head in.

Maybe he's a changed man and it's just a media beat up... but I wouldn't put my neck on the block for this bloke, not even if he runs more metres than Dufty getting home from the BBQ and misses less tackles than Capewell.

Would you put your neck on the block for Addo Carr? Or Latrell? They did the same thing and didn't get banished for it. Vaughan is a scapegoat and clubs don't want to sign him for the bad press. The bad press is coming because many in the nrl media have the emotional intelligence of a 3 year old.

I understand what you’re saying but I don’t recall a frenzy of bad press when Bulldogs signed him, there was the odd article but not mass hysteria or anything.
Up to Fitz & Mooney if they think him, as a bloke along with his stats can offer us anything which justifies said salary.

Fifita has a bigger rap sheet than Vaughan, so our no dick head policy shouldn’t apply to Vaughan. He is a upgrade on all of our props and it would be stupid to not sign a player of his quality for 200k because of the bbq gate and what the media think of him.

Latrell and JAC have been smart enough to keep their heads down. Though I don't really need either in our team.
You just can't compare a remote camping trip to a 13 player spreader event... that everyone lied about and tried to cover up. That Vaughan organised.
And even if it's a media beat up (which it always is to some degree), it wouldn't take much for Vaughan to draw a lot more of the wrong kind of attention, and he's shown he's not smart enough to avoid it. As a club I'm not putting myself in that firing line

I don't even know if I would want Vaughan (I think we need younger up and comers) but this is 100% true. How ridiculous.
