As many of you will know, I recently began a full-time employment tenure at our Club.
Recently, I pitched the idea of filming an eleven part short-documentary series to my higher ups at the Club. The pitch was well received and the thumbs up was given as long as I could find the appropriate funding for the job. Just like that, the Eleven 11 series was born. The concept is to roll out eleven 11-minute documentaries in the lead up to the 2011 season. That's two hours worth of extra-Sharks insight as we prepare for what should be a historic ride.
A budget of $10,000 for the filming of this series was set and, with the help of our media manager, I was able to find sponsorship and raise the money to pay for nearly all the necessary money to fund this project.
Although I'm not usually one to hold out my hand in such an environment as this (even amongst friends), I am asking Sharks Forever members who can to generously donate the last of the funds we need to be able to make this series come to life. We have successfully funded everything we need to date (and filming is well underway) and need only secure the last funds to pay for the score that we are going to use throughout the series.
Is it within the realm of possibility for us to be able to raise $750AU and make this eleven part series come to life? Beginning in January, we are currently planning to air two episodes per week of this series in the lead up to the 2011 season. If we can make this happen, I promise to run an exclusive Sharks Forever podcast a week before airing and reveal in advance to members of this forum of what they can expect to see as the series unfolds as well as being able to put together a special "bloopers" reel exclusively for Sharks Forever users.
I know it's tough to ask around Christmas, but help me bring this series to life. Let's enter a world of engagement that few other Clubs have dared to venture.
