Random question but I know Jonathon Docking played a couple of games for NSW but just curious as to why did the bloke retire at 28? I never seen him play but from what I’ve been told the bloke was an absolute weapon?
Terrific player for his size - full of heart and very elusive .

I think his slight frame caught up with him and lost a little bit of pace too perhaps .

I sat next to him for a Sharks / Magpies semi in the mid nineties at Parra Stadium and you would not meet a nicer and more humble bloke …
He had the biggest heart ever, ran the ball back 100 miles an hour, despite being a runt. Very dangerous in space.

Yeah. Docking was amazing on kick returns, and to think his entire career was played under a 5m rule with a downtown kick chase.

Jason Bukuya I thought was very unlucky not get a couple of games for Qld. He played some very good footy for a few years there for us.
Was good enough. Just didn't play for the Broncos, Cowboys or Storm. If he played for one of those teams (or for Bennett) he plays 5-10 origins throughout his career. FFS us poor Qld fans had to sit through two whole series of Glasby, Cooper and Hess being in the team, while Boogs was absolutely shitting on those 3 blokes at NRL level.

How Cooper and Glasby played origin is beyond me. Cooper without Thurston was absolute rubbish.

Came close if I recall?
Think he made a couple of the squads at the start of the year but don’t think he was ever 18th, 19th or 20th man? Could be wrong. But IMO he should of definitely played a few games.

Chris Heighington actually is probably the one who deserved it most.

So if we reset the criteria to "no origin or tier 1 tests" that opens things up a bit..

Clearly there is only one correct answer.

Agree Dockings attack was great, but I also remember his defense and defensive reads were great. Great all round footballer. Low scything tackles on runaway man mountains who managed to get through Sparkles, ET, Richie Barnett & Coleman.
