NRLW Judiciary: Brigginshaw referred straight to judiciary

Broncos veteran Ali Brigginshaw has been referred to the judiciary after she was hit with a Grade 3 Dangerous Throw charge for an incident involving Bulldogs fullback Tayla Preston.

I'm not sure Tieg was aware of all those charges after the game. After taking 45 minutes to drive out of the car park after a 30 minute Woolies shop with the missus, I saw Tieg on the medium strip outside of Shark Park looking to cross the road with his bag in one hand a large pizza box in the other. Didn't seem to have a care in the world.

Not sure why Teig is carrying the burden of paying $1000 per forward pass missed by the refs!
 
I think this one is a great example of why the NRL should move to a percentage model for fines rather than set amounts. Teig is probably financial enough to cop it, but if that was a guy on $120k the fine is over 8% of his take-home annual salary. Ridiculous.

It should be a % of income up to league average ($385k or whatever the number is). Anyone making more than average pays the max.

I'd also put a cap on total fines for the year. After, say 3% of total salary it becomes suspensions. Imagine the guy on 120k having 5-6 of these across the season.

Or is everything from 3rd offense onward a suspension rather than a fine?

Yeah maybe. Needs to be better than the current system though. Also needs to consider guys outside top 30 forfeit match payments if they get suspended, which could be more than the fine.

Say Rex Bassingthwaite gets a $3,000 fine that's huge for a guy on $80k, and his choice becomes pay the fine or sit out and forfeit a higher amount.

Yeah that's bullshit. You'd think the RLPA would be all over this aspect.
