What’s going on with thw Sharks land development?
You may or may not be away that at the moment, the Sharks are seeking approval to develop their property – ie. the land on both the eastern and western sides of Toyota Stadium. They want to do this because they are heavily mired in debt, and without a hasty injection of funds from the development, they will cease to exist. The future of the development isn’t set in stone. It’s definitely not a certainty to happen. Local residents and members of the Sutherland Shire Council are seeking to have the development halted.

What will happen if the development doesn’t go ahead?
The Sharks will die. There is no question about that. There will be no merger, no relocation, no saving grace from a generous benefactor. The bank will call in the debt of the Sharks, their assets will be sold off and the team that we have supported for so long will cease to exist. It’s that simple. The banks have set a deadline – July 2012. If the development hasn’t been approved by then, you can say goodbye to the Cronulla Sharks forever.

What can you do to help?
There’s lots that you can do to help, but too much to detail in one short post on a website. The CSSC has arranged a presentation on the evening of Thursday 13 October at Sharkies Leagues Club, at 7pm. On that night, we’ll explain exactly what you can do to to help. It’ll be fool proof. We’ll let you know who to write to, what to write about, and even provide the resources you need on the night.

Of course, it’s not only CSSC members who care deeply for the Sharks. If you know anyone (family, friends, neighbours) who want to help the cause, bring them along too.

We’d love to know how many people we should expect on the night, so if you plan on coming along, please just send an email to contact@cronullasupporters.com stating your name and the names of anyone else who will be attending. Alternatively, you can let us know on the CSSC Forum, or on our Facebook page.

What if you don’t live locally?
There’s still plenty that you can do. We’ll keep you up to date in this thread a little further down the track outlining exactly what our non-Sydney members can do to help fight the good fight.
