i was 11 at the time but im sure they wore this in the super league world club challenge against penrith at penrith stadium

I don't believe it was worn in games. I do think I recall seeing it worn by players in a Shark ATtack mag - possibly pre season 96 before the actual jersey was released?

i swear it was worn on the world club challenge as i had the superleague jerseys and they didnt wear them at penriff

nah, the tri series jerseys and training gear was alot different, i will upload a noel goldthorp jersey of them one day

Sorry Snowy, my memory might be MIA but I didn't think we played any WCC matches at Penrith?

We played three at home vs pommie teams, then three in england. We then lost one a semi-final against Hunter at home after the real season ended... Our WCC campaign ended there. Not sure when we played at Pennie?

your right, i dont even know where that came from, but i checked through all my old stuff and the game we played was against warrington, and they we didnt wear the home jersey.
pretty sure we racked up a score against them as well

Are we sure its a sharks top Gil. I am not convinced. No sharks emblem, no white, and no crazy patterns thta SL introduced.

Super League Playing Strip

It's a sharks top from that era,

I know the Super league jersey's never had the shark emblem on them.

All the had was the Super league logo, Nike tick, Super league patch and Ansett and the arms.



This is the playing strip.

I'm trying to find some pics of the trial games, I think Nullaboy may be right.

Super League Trial Jerseys

I found this piece of info about the jersey.
It appears they wore it during the 1996 trials, before all the court action etc.



I think in the pic it is Perth V Brisbane

This jersey was actually to be their playing strip, should the comp have gone ahead in 1996. However, as a result of a court injunction, the comp didn’t start til 97 at which time the strips had been changed.
