Line speed, offloads and hard running the Blues did a Game 1 QLD to the Maroons

How good was it having a gun kicking option in the centres - Burton made a huge difference

I can't recall seeing a QLD team struggle so bad under fatigue, they let in some trys that would make the Warriors blush. The QLD spirit doesn't seem to activate on the west coast.

Filter was getting bagged unnecessarily after game 1 - he has done a good job coaching the blues, made changes and they worked very well.
He's also had alot of good young talent in form at his disposal.

Problem is game 3 is in QLD and the Maroons are going to put everything into that

Tell me about it. I coach a team with one primary kicker. If he gets tackled on the 5th we are rooted.

Not my choice btw. Plenty of other players are allowed to kick. They just either don’t want to, or don’t pay enough attention to the tackle count to be in the right position when they need to 😞
7 year olds these days .
They just don't listen ;)

@burgess1978 will be coaching long after I've left this forum guys.
See you at training Burgo, I'll just pop in to watch... maybe give a suggestion or two... but you'll be running it, no worries.
Thanks for your forum contribution Sparkles. All the best in your future endeavours.

Nanai replaces Kaufusi in the run on team and Tom Gilbert to the bench... hopefully both need a rest come Friday week.

McLean named for the Blues (instead of an injured Haas) as well.

I'm surprised they didn't put Wighton in over Talakai

Doesn't provide sufficient cover in the forwards.
Angus can play 80 and Wighton could do 20 in the second row/lock and there's guys who can do it in the front or back rows in a pinch. Paulo can punch out more minutes, too. Not sure if Api can cover 13? I don't see it as that big an issue to make you leave out Wighton, game 1's best player and Freddie's certified leave pass.

Yeo ideally plays most of game at 13, played 66 straight in game 2
Yeo probably plays it out in a tighter game I’d think, but depending on flow and state of the game Api could probably jump in for last 14 or whoever really, as long as they keep D tight in the middle and drive good leg speed on both sides of the ball, bonus if they can throw a pass or two.

If Yeo went down for an extended period you use Murray I’d think, although Wighton if you had him.
