I didn’t even realise Pangai was eligible.

I thought he might have made himself eligible to play for NSW. I could be wrong though.

If he's not. I would call in Klemmer.
Only if he shaves his head, I want the old bald madman back in blue.

I think you are right that TPJ has either said he is available for Blues or at least hasn't confirmed he isn't. I mean, he was born in NSW...

He'll get picked for Tonga, so imagine he'll be suiting up there.

Yeah he did. I just didn’t know that until I saw you list him in your team. There is an article about it last year.

Pangai jnr’s eligibility has been a long-standing point of contention. The Brisbane enforcer made six Test appearances for Tonga and previously told Fittler his focus was on representing the Pacific Nation.

However, the 25-year-old wants to be considered for Origin this year and is poised to inform Fittler of his intentions. The decision won’t affect his ability to represent Tonga in the future, including at this year’s World Cup.

Under international eligibility rules, players can represent NSW or Queensland and still represent tier-two nations such as Tonga. It could result in Pangai earning the big payday that goes with playing Origin while still turning out against the Kangaroos at the end of the year.

Now they’ve (Staggs Tupou) apparently both said they will decline selection for Tonga and will play for NSW

That's great news - now Fitler should not pick them.

This is why QLD dominate SOO. This and the fact the also claim NSW players!

Well, that’s not really fair. We don’t really know they put their hand up for Tonga and have changed their minds or anything. Between them and Freddie there may have never been any doubt

Creating friction between NSW & the PI lads by punishing players who don't brush their heritage sounds like a great move if you don't want PI players in the Blues.

Is Cook out?
Or has he decided to represent... the Cook Islands?

Possibly. And if this is the case I will stand corrected. It wouldn't be the first time the media neat up a story

One of the lesser known criteria.

In other news, Ronaldo Mulitalo has legally changed his name to "Johnny Queensland".
No no it's because an Island has so much beach. Because he spent so much time there before he was 16 Cook qualifies for anywhere that is a high enough percentage beach

Oh - so similar to how if your Dad is a gynaecologist you have to play for Manly?
