Or they might not
Doesn’t make it a better stadium name necessarily
Two separate points, I thought.
The actual name is the least important point in the discussion, really. Though if the Sharks decided not to chase a bigger name and more money over a partnership that has local ties and relevance, it'd be a good sign that the club isn't completely broke.

I am hoping one day that Chad's beer company gets the naming rights. CT7 Stadium has a good ring to it, too...

They are but the string of the convo overall was name is ****, a big corpo name would be better (implied it equals more money), big corpo name doesn’t necessary mean more money though so it actually a ‘better name’

Imagined scenarios where we get paid more are fine. I even tongue in cheek said Ocean protect won’t be able to afford to renew with us. Definitely a positive if we can get to a point we align preferentially with brands of our choice rather than having to take highest bidder.

For now mildly on theme actual real sponsor, I’m happy with them.

I still dont get why people are complaining. We have a million dollar stadium sponsor. That's fantastic. For a club that needs all the help it can get revenue wise I'd hope to see less complaining and happy we have one. Asking for too much though.

The synergy with the Sharks and the area is an extra bonus not to mention what they actually do is great.

Sharks are using their good corporate social responsibility with this sponsor.

Ie brings good will to alot of areas within the community, should we do something not so good

Nice in theory mate but I have zero doubt we'd take BP or the manufacturer of plastic bags if it came down to it.

It was met with a sour reception in the press. Something about us having too many ground name changes. Jeez they can spin a good story bad.
Yeah Ocean Protect is our 5th name sponsor since 2000. If Jubillee manages to get a sponsor again, it will be their 5th in the same time

Only our 7th naming sponsor overall in nearly 60 years there

When the Monty Porter Stand was built, it wasn’t just the stand. We got the entrances, the front of the stadium, gym etc.

That’s why I'm hopeful that although renovating the stadium wasn’t never part of the development, the fact that the Peter Burns Stand is technically part of the Leagues Club building, we will at least get some sort of meaningful improvements.
