Ugly win but in these one off playoffs, you take what you can get. An upset win over UAE and now we go up against Peru on Tuesday for a spot in the World Cup.

Unreal, totally didn’t expect to qualify, only down side I’d have to put up with Graham Arnold’s arrogance till November

Denmark & France in the Socceroos group so I don't see them progressing.

Only hope they have is against Tunisia but 1 win unlikely to get them through unless they rack up the goals and rely on other results going their way.

Previous socceroos teams might have had a chance against Denmark but I doubt this one. They just have no strike players anymore but hopefully Rogic comes back in.

I give us a punchers chance against Denmark, they’re good but they’re not among the absolute elite. I mean not many gave us a chance against Peru so here we are. France on paper should lap us obviously but they have been in horrible form in the Nations Cup so that’s a straw to grasp. Tunisia is a bloody good team and will be hard to beat but definitely not impossible.

It’s definitely no group of death like we’ve had in the past but it’s still an uphill battle to get out of. But like Simon Hill said, you can never write off the Socceroos.

Teams 3, 11 & 35 on current rankings.
We are 42 and just won in penalties vs team 22

I'm not a big football/soccer fan but usually follow the Socceroos with some interest particularly at a World Cup.
Very happy they have made it, long odds to go any further but at least they are there to try and hopefully at least put up respectable performances and ideally get that win over Tunisia.

Didnt realise Denmark were ranked that high. I still give us a chance anyway.

In past world cups Socceroos have shown they can match it with some of the top teams early on (France, Netherlands ect) but end up getting blown away as the game goes on. They just don't have the quality across the park of the better teams and can't rely on lobbing it into Cahill anymore.

We will bring defense and physicality but it's not enough - we have that traditional aussie problem of having no genuine strikers up front or the ones that won't miss their chances. These A-League boys won't get it done sadly.

But even in the days of Viduka, Kewel ect it was scoring goals and finishing off chances that was still our problem. Cahill put a big bandaid on that for about 3 world cups.

Don't get me wrong it's an achievement for a country like Australia to make the world cup (5 times in a row now) and I am always proud and hopeful of them and support them with anticipation during their campaign.

They have had some poor games during the qualification stages against teams that shouldn't have troubled them as much as they did, I just don't feel that convinced or confident about what they are offering. Lot of fans don't seem happy with the coaching.

Peru were ranked 22 though so credit where it is due, but that looked a terrible quality match and I think Peru were missing 1 or 2 of their best players. We had no Rogic though who can be brilliant in the midfield.

Denmark won't make the final but are a strong team that have been going up the rankings for a while now , we have a chance against them but it will be tough.

France I don't see a way through them and they wont drop a game against us

We got through to the rnd of 16 in 2006 with a win and a draw, it's not impossible

Milos Ninkovic is now a Wanderer. There are already people on social media pissing on or burning their Ninkovic jerseys.

Mark the first Sydney derby on your calendar, shits going to get real.
