Talakai can tackle.,........but not in space as a centre. He is good when middles run straight but can be deceived by a decent attacking player. Hoping someone else (Iro) is better.
Iro isn’t better. He is a very poor defender.

said this in the pre season - this bloke has 4-6 weeks to show us he’s a centre or we end this experiment, move him back to the forwards and go to market next year to find a genuine centre. Iro/Tracey can fill in for the rest of the season if Talakai doesn’t make the spot his own.

So you'd replace him with either a shithouse defender or a bloke that offers nothing in attack?

No point playing him there when his best spot is in the forwards. Rather strengthen our pack which then eases pressure on our outside backs.

If Sifa was moved to the middle or edge at some point, could Ikavalu be the replacement? Based on him returning soon I beleive.

IF Fitz wanted to move Talakai and IF Ikuvalu was fit then I am sure he could be considered

We looked like we have more punch with Talakai closer to the middle but you'd think it's now unlikely to happen long term. We've prepared with this lineup and you'd think we're all in unless our hand is forced.

It might just have been with the injuries and suspension

Not forced to include Ikuvalu though. It'd be Tracey or Hiroti who comes into centre (or Atkinson) to move Talakai to bench middle.

Assuming Halzeton for Graham and nobody returns from injury, and we don't want to reshuffle edge, we can replace Williams with Bradbury, Berrell, Tracey, Atkinson or Hiroti on bench.

his best spot for us in 2023 is in the centres until someone else becomes better

we cant rob peter to feed paul with ludicrous shouts for tracey - who cant defend or attack - or iro who cant defend

talakai making 200m at centre for us is better than him sitting on the bench for 40 minutes
