Yeah was a great battle. I think Staggs dominated him in defence but Sifa was very effective when he ventured in field which is what makes him so valuable, can't think of many centres that have that attribute.

My main concern was defence and I'm not sure Sifa was directly responsible for much.
Did Staggs ever stop him one on one? Reynolds and Walters both did but I think Staggs had Reynolds with him (or at times two others) basically as he made contact each time. Broncos contained him well and Staggs played a role in that but I don't recall Staggs himself dominating him in defence.

Not taking away from Staggs, he played well, one of their best. Just think it was a lot closer between the two than commentators acted like.
If our guys as a team had been as switched onto Staggs as they were to Talakai we'd have got a lot closer.

Pretty sure there was one good hit from Staggs. You're right though, more of a conscious team effort to shut Talakai down.

Looking back, I don't think he was *that* bad. Took a bunch of hard carries. The Staggs try was Ronaldo letting him run around him.

Just gassed really hard. As you expect for a guy that's built like a brick shithouse.

And Matt Lodge. He flew out of the line and got sat on his ass by Sifa.
I'd have to double check the replay but was that a shoulder charge by Lodge after the whistle?

Would be first Garrick after Talakai passed then Lodge after whistle not being done for shoulder charges just because Talakai is staunch AF

our centre issues are solved imo. Him and Jesse to be our centres for this year and next (barring injury).

I'd have to watch the replay too. Not sure.

I have no idea what you're trying to say in the second sentence haha.

Because Talakai is a ****ing unit contacts on him are being ignored that would be penalties in other circumstances.

That if Talakai shoulder charged Garrick after he passed as opposite to what happened in Manly game it's be a penalty and likely suspension.
Or if Talakai ran through a half after the whistle (not exact reverse of what happened as it was Lodge not a half) likely a suspension also.

It's not a big deal, just a bit biased against forwards.

Yeah completely agree with that. Apologies your wording had me confused.

Hope this bloke re signs

I think he will. In all of his interviews, he always seemed grateful for Cronulla to give hime a second chance. When both sides have good intentions, there is always a middle ground.
