Or, Still lacking match fitness and Josh (Fitz) doesn’t want to play him in NRL until he has that under his belt?
Ronnie was out for a long time as well. Correct me if I am wrong mate, but I can’t remember if he came back via the NSW Cup.

Ronnie is a centre isn’t he.
Why not push him in and Leave Tracey in the wing?

See if Tracey can handle it ?
Fitz want him in the team so its Centre or your suggestion ( which I don't mind )
Maybe we'll know more after the game

Decent test if he's marking Staggs, first game back or not.

we have missed these two

Sione was good considering his return from injury. he popped up for a run to give the forwards a break. happy for him

made good metres - due to his break of 'knock ons'!!!!!

Just watched the NRL's full explanation of the "non forward pass". To the letter of the the law it is correct - but Annesley is pretending like that is not a play that happens all the time and never, ever gets called. Basically what he said is that if you juggle the ball and then tap it backwards before regaining it then it should be called a knock on. I reckon I could crack a beer, start watching random highlights from the last 10 years, and before I finish the beer I could find at least 3 tries where that happens.

Should have been called a forward pass, but because it wasn't they found a obscure reason to take it away. Next week when that exact same thing happens... crickets.

Interesting. Also, is that meant to apply to a kick? How many times do we see a player lose the ball forward but get a boot to it before hitting the ground? Same thing I would have thought.

Yep both good points. I also listened to the explanation and agree. Basically any bobble must be regathered otherwise deemed a knock on.

I would rather them say the refs missed a howler so the bunker intervened. I think in this instances people could accept this.

Simple explanation.

The touchie ****ed up and the NRL are covering up for his incompetence.

But they are making themselves all the more foolish by saying this.

Why can't they just come out and say the touchie made a mistake and the pass was forward?

Would it really kill them to do that or are there egos that big?

How can they?
I can’t imagine that ‘we made a mistake so bunker just invented a way to fix it and we are fine with that’ going down well.

Also they are saying ANY juggle not fully regathered is a knock on even if batted backwards?! That’s just stupid

Mate, they are treating the public like they are idiots. I'm happy for them to talk about the "rule" as it does seem there is a small chance it is correct.

But there's no way the touchie or the ref would have seen that - it was a blatant forward pass - they should be saying "well the law is this but also the touchie got it horribly wrong and he'll be dropped for two games."

And apply to tries? I've seen a heap of examples where a players doesn't look like having controls but plants a finger back on the ball as it hits the ground and have it awarded.
