Official Sione Katoa

I considered making a poll but I wasn’t sure how to phrase the option that is not Dropped 😃
Sam's close enough to the team, and conservative enough with what he says that I feel like he wouldn't say he was dropped unless that's what it was and everyone was cool about it.

That's good enough for me.

I went to the WGC after the Tigers game it was pretty quite and then in walks Fitzy, Gal, Wado, Noaksy and Riccio. Got a 1 on 1 with Fitzy for about 10 minutes buying beers and I asked him about Katoa and he said he was dropped. He referenced a couple of games I think one was Broncos not sure. Good talk was surprised how happy he was to have a chat he was up for it. I think he (like me) had already had a few sherbies they were all in high spirits it was a big win. Mentioned he had signed a player too but wouldn't give me a name.

Thanks, good scoops!

Poor Katoa, dropped for his performance two games and a bye from now!

Must have been some good stuff behind the bar haha

Yeah he was super cool mates took a pic of me chatting with him I was there that long. I hit him up if he is a Shark man or a Rooster man and he confirmed he's a Rooster man but as a coach he is 100% a Shark man. I pressed him about being a ball boy when he was a kid for us and his old man coaching us before he was ever a Rooster but he wouldn't budge had a good laugh he is really down to earth. I asked about any chances he would go back as HC to the Roosters if TR left he said forever is a long time but its not anywhere near his radar at present. Told me how hard it is with the clubs facilities etc and budget compared to where he came from. Also mentioned the stuff he has to deal with behind the scenes the stuff nobody ever reads about as a HC. Dealing with the players personalities, families, kids and balancing all of the politics. Didn't sledge the club at all just said it's tough with the budget and facilities compared to other clubs.

They all seemed pretty well oiled when they turned up. Gal was good value too had time for a few laughs and selfies (only because we had a cute chick with us lol). I was surprised to see Riccio was there hanging out with them. The place was dead I think they just kept it open because they turned up.

At the end of the day, injury or no injury, he went from first grade to reserve grade which is being dropped. He could have easily sat a week out if they wanted to rest him, not still play footy at a high level.
Hes got his spot back now so good for him
Yeah it doesn’t really matter whether it fits one definition or the other. The issue is when people try to use it as a basis for their hot takes 6 months later like it’s a known fact.

“I think players X was playing bad. He was dropped so obviously I am right”.

Great game overall. He's always elusive and finishes well, apart from that dropped ball early on with the line wide open. I just wished he had a bit more speed. He made a big break last night but was cut down. It would be great to see him pin his ears back and have the confidence to sprint away, but you always get the feeling he is going to get mowed down in a 50 or 60 metres sprint to the line

I think the early drop he was just genuinely surprised Jesse passed him the ball. I know I was.

As for his speed, he does his best work in a 5 m radius. He doesn’t have much in a straight line. I’m not certain but I think it was Ben Hunt that finished him off. I don’t think it is a confidence issue, he just ain’t that fast.
