Official Sione Katoa

That’s how I remember it, but not sure how/if he got confused with the year before. He literally said that Sione’s name was on paperwork and he was booked in for surgery in the coming days. Maybe he was telling porkies all along.
Yeah that was a bit weird

I mean, I guess it could be another Sione Katoa, there can be more than one apparently… if an NRL reporter can confuse them…

That’s true. Sione Katoa is a popular Tongan name.

It’s not impossible that another Sione Katoa was booked into that hospital for shoulder surgery and his name appeared on the paperwork the same day that a lazy journalist worked off of an AI hallucination and spread some false news that Sione had done his shoulder again.

It’s unlikely. But not impossible.

I think it’d be more likely he saw the name, posted it here and that got scraped.

But yeah all up not sure what went on there
He didn’t cop much for it in here though, him leaving is only reasons it’s come up

There was an explanation,it was some sort of clerical error where last year’s surgery list was wrongly sent out

I will keep refreshing the Pilot Medical Update page and let you know once his injury had been updated!

Interesting interview with the NRL Physio how clubs often abuse him for his work. Mentions how clubs intentionally want to keep injuries as secret as possible to avoid exploitation

In a straight line I reckon Tracy beats Kennedy. Crichton and Bronson beat our centres. Montoya might lose out. Galvan outpaces Nicho. Burton probably beats Tricky as well.

Depends on how far you want them to run.

Kennedy isn’t quick off the mark, but he does a great job of maintaining his pace over a long distance (see his long range tries last year against Parra and Manly, or his defensive chase a few weeks ago) whereas Tracey is quick off the mark but slows down after 20-30 meters.

Ronaldo’s both quick off the mark and great at keeping his pace, Stoney looks to be the same but can’t say for sure as we haven’t seen him in open space enough.

Agree than Iro, Katoa, Tricky, Hynes and Ramien are all outpaced by their counterparts at the Dogs. Not sure on Hiroti as I haven’t seen him in open space enough.

If this is the case those clubs are dumb. He's just a physio making an assumption from video. Couldn't every club do the same thing with their own physics if it was such an advantage?

Pretty sure it was Melbourne gave him a massive spray… only for him to end up correct

Might be personal like with his family or something hence respecting his privacy

Rudolf and Sifa were dropped but both came from attitude issues as far as I can recall, something I don't think Sione has ever had much of a problem with and has generally speaking been a consistent performer

IF he was dropped off the back of one bad performance (which I doubt is the sole reason alone) I would just hope that coach applies this philosophy consistently and doesn't play favorites - every player should be held to the same standards and expectations at training and at the game

He was moving a bit better than last week but still was wobbly on that leg/ankle when standing up twice that i noticed in the first half before this happened.

He was either carrying this injury already… or drunk.

This is another dumb thing about the NRL and bunker.

Get innocuous leg contact and stay down grasping your leg like a soccer player = penalty, sin bin, suspension.

Cop an obvious hip drop, get up and play the ball - but limp your way through he next 3 weeks = nothing.

Yep we all laugh about soccer but the NRL is just as bad, just maybe not as theatrical.

I hate it.
