I really like him, I don’t know where he’d fit in with our logjam of forwards signed up for next year though.

Sign him and let Royce go to Parra, or don't resign Williams. Clear 2-300k off the books.

I'll take this Parra clear out with a grain of salt (everyone was supposedly jumping ship when we sacked JMoz too). However, if they go poorly for the next season or two I wouldn't be surprised to see Moses flee to win a comp. Hopefully we can position our cap towards something like this and get in his ear when the time comes.

Might not be enough, other clubs would get in that bidding war you’d have to imagine. His price would probably go up a bit. Besides, even if either Hunt or Williams go there’s still a bit of a logjam in the forwards.

Yeah he may not back himself to make our pack either which is fair enough. I think he'd be cheaper than those mentioned, but you're probably right that other clubs would go harder than we should.

That’s fair, although it’s a little different as this is supposedly Ryles moving players, not players leaving because coach did.

In saying that there’s only so many guys you can let go and chip in on to clear big contracts without spending too much of your cap on other teams. Clear out likely not substantial

Yeah I just don’t think we’re that desperate to make signings, the club seems mostly pretty happy with what we have and are backing them to get better, plus we have AFB coming in which might just be the missing piece. Plus its hard to imagine we have much wriggle room in the cap to go out and take advantage of these kind of opportunities, especially if it ends up in a bidding war.

Despite all the names that get brought up in this thread I’m convinced Fonua-Blake is the only bit of major business we do, and it could very well prove to be enough, or it might not. I guess we’ll find out and whatever happens, its on the club managements hands.

Was listening to an interview with Gus last night and he was talking about forwards that specialise in shorter stints.

The way he was working it out maths-wise made some sense. If you're paying 500k for a 40 minute forward then that makes them a 1 million dollar player.

One way of looking at things value-wise to the club they're playing for.

Flanno, Bellamy or Bennett will be all over this kid and get the best out of him

Still not a title threat or contender, its great finishing top 4 or 8, but we've been average in those finals. Still needs to add peices and build a formidable team not just hope for the same squad to come good.
He was lucky he inherited players Bomber helped develop and then given the opportunity to recruit from outside. Needs to continue building a premiership team from that, and he needs to recruit

I dont think there are any sharks fans that watch our games and think this current squad thats been together for 2 or 3 years now can go all the way
Slowly heading in the right direction with changes though, but slowly. Dont want to miss out on our premiership window, I'm giving us 3 years for it starting when AFB joins next year, our seniors are heading into their 30s in a few years and younger talent still maturing/developing stuck behind them
