Club Statement: Zac Lomax
The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Zac Lomax has been granted an immediate release from his playing contract.www.parraeels.com.au
"To pursue a career outside the NRL".
The only thing I can think of is brickie's labourer.
NRL can't penalize anyone that's not under contract to a NRL (or affiliated competition contact) nor could they deny future registration to any potential player that had previously signed a R360 contract so long as it no longer had effect. That's only if they negotiate whilst under contract though right?
Thought that was why players like him and papi were negotiating releases
It's a simple fix. Clubs shouldn't release them out of their final year (like they have done with Paps and Lomax). That way if they sign whilst still registered then the penalty will take place.NRL can't penalize anyone that's not under contract to a NRL (or affiliated competition contact) nor could they deny future registration to any potential player that had previously signed a R360 contract so long as it no longer had effect.
I dunno, if it means players have to negotiate a release with their clubs that’s probably a positive thing.I say just let them go and stop with the big threats Vlandys. He’s only going to make himself possibly look like a fool if the bans can’t stand up, or he goes and allows a big name player like Haas back in 2 years anyways.
Not every NRL players wants to jet around the world every week, a lot have families and a lot won’t even get offers. We will still have a quality NRL competition even if we lose a few.
If anything Vlandys has already weakened our product because players are jumping out of the 2026 season so they can sign with out being on a contract.
True if they have long term NRL contracts its good to see them try do it professionally.I dunno, if it means players have to negotiate a release with their clubs that’s probably a positive thing.
Beats an SBW walkout where you find out your star players gone last minutes he’s flying out to another country

That is bizarre. Not like they have wingers beating the door down, and he's still young.Murray Tualagi has been told by the cowboys he won’t be re signed past his current deal which expires next season.
Bit of a strange one considering he’s a rep player for Samoa and Qld :?
St George are going hard for him now as well as the Titans.
His form has been patchy but at his best he’s an absolute gun.Murray Tualagi has been told by the cowboys he won’t be re signed past his current deal which expires next season.

Yeh I get it. Club self interest comes first. That’s not how it works though. Clubs are releasing them not out of the goodness of their heart but to free up space.
If they wanted to keep they would and the fact they are getting released to not make another club stronger is also a factor
Not much info out there but it says he’s on around 450k. Definitely not overs imo.Unless they need to rebalance their cap and he’s on overs? Even then you’d just offer a fair deal and see if he takes it.
I think he’s a over rated but still a good player

I wonder if they are trying to free up cash to keep Purdue. Not much info out there but it says he’s on around 450k. Definitely not overs imo.
TPJ just wanders around the sporting world collecting cheques. He knows he is naturally physically gifted and that he should capitalise on that but I just don’t think he enjoys being a sportsman very much. Now, if Tevita Pangai Junior’s decision to turn down a move to the Warrington Wolves in favour of moving to a SIXTH division French rugby side for 2026, doesn’t end up with him ultimately signing for R360 for 2027 and beyond, I’d be amazed.![]()
