Keons manager is asking for 900k a season and want a 4 year deal.

Thoughts?

Good player yes but is he worth it over 4 years?
How old is he?

Also depends on whether there's a ratchet clause or not. Without the clause, 900k in his 4th year is probably worth about 750-800.

Tough one either way. Imagine him and AFB tearing it up!

NRL wants the ratchets in there by default, as it also protects them if they need to drop the wages again in an emergency. Would have to convince them to let it come out (or tweak)

Wow. Ok, I didn't know that. Ta.

Hmm he’s a good player but that’s pretty high. Is pretty versatile and think he’s found his position in the middle

I think he’s value is being over stretched by an opportunistic manager because he’s taken full advantage of the fact that we’re losing props for the Australian team by the bucketload and now he’s cemented his spot in that Roos lineup. I think he’s an excellent player, but 900? AFB and Haas money? LOL **** off. Knock about 200-250 off that.

Good effort player, doesn't look at big as his stats say, probably at the stage of his career, its the $$$ or premiership

Id have Keons market at about 850k, so I'd have no issue paying 900.

If clubs are entertaining 1.2 for Tino. 900k for Keon is a steal.

Agreed. The fact is, with the Bears coming in 2027 and then the tax-free incentives on offer in PNG in 2028 and the prospect of the most lucrative tv deal in the game’s history being brokered, the idea of a player like Keon setting his value at 900k is soon to be the new normal.

Going to be interesting what they can achieve with this. Not sure FTA networks will be prepared to pay up as much as PVL would like.

Perth would be off to a good start getting him as one of their props.
