Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion

Luais got swagger, but he's ****ing ****. Great to help move standards and lift the tigs off the bottom, but they won't be going anywhere great with him on 1.2m

Any chance we go all in on luai, he is arrogant and has killer instinct something we desperately lack.
I don’t see the halves as a position for us to worry about with Nicho and Trindall. We also have quite a few good young prospects there who should be ready to step up in a few years.

Fullback is our main priority

Maybe Hynes to FB was the next idea. 🤷‍♂️

Ah... no... Actually punting Hynes to the SL was the idea. Stellar stuff.

BEARS TARGETING HALFBACK

A former Bulldogs star has been linked to the Perth Bears, with one expert believing the halfback could be the new NRL franchise’s first ever signing.

It’s a crucially important period for the Bears, who are free to negotiate and sign players from midnight tonight.

With a blank roster and just over $12 million to splurge, the Bears can’t afford to not be aggressive.

They’ve signalled their intent, with recruitment manager Dane Campbell hoping the club can sign ten players by Christmas.

Veteran journalist Brent Read says the Bears’ brass convened for “five days of meetings” to sort out their plain of attack.

Has to be Lachlan Lewis

It’s Toby Sexton.
As a side note, not to cast aspersions but, does anybody else find it somewhat convenient that, if the Bears do sign Sexton for 2027, he was effectively safeguarded from other clubs making a bid (although the journos will have you believe there was no NRL interest in him) by signing with Catalans Dragons for 2026 and beyond: the same Catalans Dragons who have a ‘special’ relationship with the Bears. 🧐

And… this may be tinfoil hat territory but… Tino has spoken of the importance of having his family around him at the Titans. His brother, Iszac has signed for Catalans in 2026…
I’m starting to see a pattern…😅

What’s the link between Perth and Catalans?

They announced they have formed a working relationship between the clubs a few weeks ago.
Reading between the lines it appears to be a landing spot for off-contract players for 2026 ahead the Bears coming into the NRL in 2027.
Beyond that, if PVL gets the SL clubs on board, all NRL clubs will likely be encouraged to forge links with SL clubs to expand player pathways and development and, hopefully, bring up the standard and marketability of the game in the UK.
The Bears are just ahead of the curve (with the NRL’s encouragement) 😜.
