Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion

Thread Info
Thread for any general NRL or Sharks signing news or discussion.
Been consistently good at 1 club out of 3.
Someone will snap him up no doubt but I'd be wary of what you'll get.
Not like Tigers have helped him succeed, but I'm sure they wanted more from him too

Yeah no brainer for a good system but the lower teams should steer clear.

Souths or Penrith would be a great landing spot for him.

Old news but Dale Finucane was recruited by NRL 360 last night for one appearance.

Fire sale at the tigers. Benji is wanting over 12 players off the books by the end of next season. Word is they’re happy to even chip in for some of these players to move them on.

Bateman, Pappali’i, Sullivan, Naden, Staines are names being thrown around so far. Plenty more to come though.

Nothing of interest there for mine

But I do think some of those names might help us with retention of Williams and Iro
Drawing attention away
Eg Bateman, Pappali’i, Naden

Didn't they sign Sullivan to a multi-year contract last offseason?
I suppose the new management wants to get things back on track and sees clearing the dead wood as a first step in the right direction, but with a young, unproven coach on top of this, I reckon they'll remain cellar dwellers for a few more years.

And wasn’t Sullivan a Benji Signing?

Yeah but he straight away fell behind Sezer and Galvin. With Fainu there and Luai incoming he’s excess to requirements. Timing is good to have him playing NRL atm to try show his wares and get a contract somewhere.

I think they’ll still be paying a good chunk of it.

I’ve always like Bateman, not that we need him, plenty of effort and a hard edge, Rekon flanno will be on the phone to him.

I've found him pretty disappointing so far this year. It might be that playing for Wests is taking its toll or just Father time slowly catching up with him, but he's a far cry from the Bateman that played at the Raiders.

With Parramatta officials due to meet the management of Sharks assistant Josh Hannay on Thursday, former Dragons boss McGregor has confirmed he would be interested in returning to the Eels, ending a four-year head coaching exile.

Hannay has been part of Craig Fitzgibbon’s staff which has nursed the Sharks to the top of the table this year. He has also helped Queensland and Billy Slater win the last two Origin series as a Maroons assistant.

Parramatta can keep their grubby little hands away from our Joshy boy. The man is tied to the shire, what being a Gymea Gorillas legend and all.

Isnt Naden off contract?
I was chatting to him at end of last yr wjen he had shoulder surgery, and he told me then that this was his last yr @ Wests and that he wanted to go join Catalan Dragons to finish his career off and sightsee Europe
