Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion 2026

I haven't been happy with his output for 1.5 years now, rather use his money elsewhere.
I had him as top 3 back rower the season before that. Be interested to know what’s changed to see his obvious impact drop so much
With more bench time you wouldn’t guess he must be doing more off ball coach unhappy with. But then Billy selected him over Luki and Fine Id have said we’re in much better form

People laughed when we signed the likes of Billy Burns

I trust whoever Fitz and Mooney think we need at our club.

However, if Trout flounders, then I'm casting them aside.
It's tough to reel in the salary carp. But Fitz and the team have done a good job of balancing the scales so far.

Opposition team is kicking to Stonestreet's corner almost exclusively so he doesn't get involved in yardage,, and when they are in attacking range they aren't passing him the ball as often even though he is in position to receive it?

Coach also said both benchings were due to injury comeback and he thinks Nikora is playing well. Maybe fans and coach are looking at different things?

He's never gotten involved in yardage

Not true.

Across 2023 and 2024 approximately 40% of Nikora's runs were inside his own 40.

I didn't track 2025. Concentrated on more detail for middles and ignored edge players

This year have left the model alone and have been watching all levels, tracking 100+ prospects.

Don't make me go graph on your ass!

Connor Watson has signed a 1-year deal with the dragons for next season. Then a 2-year deal with the chiefs starting 2028.

Dragons for next season are actually now looking pretty decent

1. Drinkwater
2. Tu
3. Suli
4. Holmes
5. Sami
6. Atko
7. Metcalf
8. Couchman
9. Watson
10. Keon
11. Egan
12. Couchman
13. Stewart/Watson

14. Watson/Stewart
15. Leilua
16. Pasikiki-Tonga
17. Gutho
18. Flanno Jr
19. Kerr

First may be a factor

If we just aren't giving him attacking football and that's just how it ends up then that's fine

But I'm not convinced it is true both benching were 'due to injury', as if he was playing like a top 3 backrower in the game I don't think we softly him off the bench for 30 minutes in a prelim. And if he is being outplayed by Burns and Teig he is also a long way off top 3.

I'd be a little nervous about Metcalfe, but if he can stay healthy there's plenty of points in that team

Well all we can do is a) believe the coach and b) go off the track record where the coach brings every other injured forward back via the bench in a reduced stint for at least a week (and often more).

or the coach is telling the truth and he is happy with Brit but also Brit is not playing his absolute best football.
