Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion 2026

He’s still playing decent footy but would have thought he might have been a chance of securing one last decent pay day by going to the bears.
Think he’s probably just a bit too old for that*.
36 in first season for them and then 37 in a second season… or is the theory he just moves for one year?

*Flanno at least has eyes on him and know both where he is at and he fits with what he wants. Playing decent footy but unextended 6 months from now maybe Bears would’ve come knocking.
((Or flanno locked him on now to keep the bears at bay))

Damien Cook set to sign a 1 year extension with the Dragons keeping him there until the end of 2027.

He will be 36 next season
I was surprised by that, I think last yr he was very underwhelming, not that he had been good @ the Rabbitohs the last two seasons.

I just thought new club, new scenery, he might get a sugar hit in the two yr deal & might prove an astute signing.

I was watching halfway through last season & I thought, the dragons are probably regretting signing him for two seasons & when Liddle was on is when the dragons looked far better.

Can’t believe they think he’ll be up for it next season, let alone this season.

That's great for Josh and the Titans.
It's massive for that club.

I really do think this time the titans may get this right with Josh at the helm.
The fact he has cleaned out the roster is something that has needed to be done for years is a huge step in the right direction. Also, if the rumours are true & they somehow get Bellamy there in whatever role (even part time) - that club will eventually find success you'd imagine.

Big Tino has committed to the Titans until at least 2030.
With get out clauses every 6 months!

Okay, I made that up, but it seems like it'd be true

Also, i'm even more glad that he didn't end up back at the storm. They were all in for him & thought they had him at one point.
**** that club!
Yeah I thought the Paps and NAS money made it a done deal.
Hopefully Lomax held their best offer up and they don't end up getting him either.

Roster far from cleaned out unfortunately for them, but the process has begun.
Brimson on 850k to still not really be sure where he is playing and it almost certainly isn't his best position still needs to be fixed.
And if this best 17 is correct they have like 5 or 6 guys who hardly make any other best 17s in the NRL.

1. Keano Kini
2. Siale Faeamani
3. Max Feagai
4. Phil Sami
5. Jojo Fifita
6. AJ Brimson
7. Jayden Campbell
8. Moeaki Fotuaika
9. Sam Verrills
10. Tino Fa'asuamaleaui
11. Josh Patston
12. Beau Fermor
13. Chris Randall
14. Luke Sommerton
15. Cooper Bai
16. Klese Haas
17. Kurtis Morrin

But Hannay is positioning himself to try get some upgrades. TBH Titans should offer Eels 200k for Lomax rights and Eels probably approve it just to spite Storms poor approach.

I heard Zac Lomax might be available...

From what’s being said the clauses have been removed until 2030 so they’ve got him for the next 5 years. After that I believe the clauses are still there but surely if they’re still **** by 2030 they wouldn’t stand in his way to sign elsewhere.

That squad for 2026 is rubbish but with the money they’ve freed up they’re going to have big dollars to throw at players off contract for 2027/2028 which will get them on the right track. Titans just need to show patience with Hannay, this is easily a 3-4 year plan before they’ll be in contention for finals.

Bad timing to keep fighting Bears and start fighting PNG for players though, amongst of course, everyone else.
At least have the GC appeal over PNG move and having a lot of money will get them a little closer to the tax incentivised PNG deals.
Rough time to rebuild but better than no rebuild I guess!

its niggley. it might make it easier for us to say goodbye to certain players but it also ramps up the price of who want to keep

Being a strong club solves a lot of issues

Either you're attractive enough the player you want to keep stays, or if they do get an offer too good to refuse, you are attractive enough to get a decent replacement.
Won't be the case 100% of the time, but we are positioned well to probably not be too negatively impacted by roster moves across the league next few years.
