Yeah fair point. Living in England also may not have been appealing at this stage of his life.
 
It seems like the best we can hope for in 2027 is to fend off the Bears for some of our current squad (who we were ready to discard), and hope the pathways players lift to fill any gaps.

Does anyone see us getting any quality signings for 2027? Or would we be targeting 2028?

With so many players in the squad off contract you would like to think we can bring in some quality but it’s going to be hard getting any quality signings with 2 new expansion teams joining the comp.

I hope we let them all go to the bears. Sign Murray Taulagi and Mason Barber and commit to a semi rebuild.

I'd be looking to sign a winger- Braidon Burns and Tuipulotu probably the two off contract I'd look at.

Then I might get roasted for this one... but i would be offering Dane gagai a one year deal

If it felt like Gagai was going to be the tipping point I'd be for it, but I doubt he will be. I'd rather give Gabrael a run and give him time

I can't see Gabrael playing a full season of Nrl even next year, he's going to take time adjusting to playing on the right for a start.

This team is begging for some actual leadership which Gagai has, also a great mentor to younger players. I could see him happily taking a nsw/qld cup deal to focus on that honestly

Gagai isn’t going to play again next season, he is getting jerseys from a player each week that he comes up against. To me that says it’s his last season
