Metcalf doesn’t sit still long if he is not right where he wants to be. He is hardly in any position to be expecting to just walk back into the #7. Warriors are flying and he can’t stay on the paddock – he didn’t even finish his comeback game without injury. If he was half as reliable as he seems entitled he might be in a better place.

Has only played 43 NRL games, never more than 15 in a season. You'd have to be stupid to pay big money for him.
Thing is, he arguably earnt the right to walk back in with how well he performed last season.
And they let him, and the team performed worse as a result.
I can understand him being a bit impatient too, if I was him knowing my ACLs can blow out any moment I wouldn't wanna be wasting previous steps in Cup either. Just means he can' be choosy and is lucky he was good enough last season to generate some demand.

Metcalf is currently on 700k a season at the Wahs.
If Dragons offered him the 7 jersey and 800k he would be there in a flash I reckon. That's if his discussions with the Wahs go pear shaped.
