Moving the Herbie related discussion here from the Kennedy thread as it's more appropriate.

The way I see it, is this team may need to go to market ASAP if we want to convert this window into a premiership.

2026 off contract that could tip the scales enough for us - 0
2026 off-contract that could help/improve positions - Averillo, Taulagi, Dykes?
2027 off contract that could tip the scales enough for us - Herbie, Latrell, Hammer, Turbo, Teddy, Cleary
2027 off-contract that could help/improve positions - Best, Graham, Talagi, Yeo, Duncan, Ford, Stefano, Willison, Finefuiaki, Knowles, Preston, Young, Coates, Savage, To'o
2027 off-contract Hail Marys - Papalii

To be honest, I can't see any of the big ones moving except maybe Herbie/Hammer for the right deal as the Phins might be pushed to prioritise one of them.

If Holdsworth is to go, I would be having a red-hot crack at Ben Teo.

He isn't just a future first grade coach, he the Broncos spiritual leader who the players loved and followed every word he said. Guy has a real aura around him from what's been said by former players coached by him.

*Edit - if Holdsworth is to stay, I still want us to have a crack at getting Teo in as one of our assistants.

Anyone here know much about Mason Barber. Young fullback/centre for the cowboys. Apparently is highly rated and wanting a change of scenery. Could be an option for us maybe for next season to put pressure on Ison if Kennedy isn’t re signed.

I remember him from the trials, but haven't watched much more. Big body, quick with a step. I absolutely would be exploring it. Looks like he could easily play centre/wing too.

After some further watching ****ing absolutely go after this kid. The way he moves is elite, he looks a star. Cows forum in meltdown over the news too which is always a good sign.
