Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion 2026

Gee Perth are getting severely left behind - and they are meant to be starting pre-season in 5 months.

NRL really stuffed them with PNG coming in a year later, with all the tax free incentives etc

Wouldn't surprise me if they push back Perth until 2029 or even 2030.
What I don't understand is Perth were strictly held to not negotiate with anyone until the normal period, November the year before entering (Nov 2025) - 12 months before first preseason.

PNG seem to have been allowed a 7+ month head start.

I know the start year is offset by 12 months still but brutal for Perth to be trying to negotiate against PNG now. Got maaaybe 5 months to try and set their side up unaffected by the next new side.

Who the hell is Bellamy?
Craig Shaniqua Fitzgibbon has selected players from the Cronulla squad again this weekend, smh
When will he learn his lessons

Pretty sure PNG have the same rules about Nov 1.

Difference is that those off contract for next year (2027) are going straight to PNG for 2028 (probably hoping worst case they could do a smaller deal for 1year next year with existing club).

Toby is an example. He is talking publically about wanting to go to PNG, even though he hasn't got a contract for 2027.

It's the player's contracts which have allowed them to do this

Souths allowed AJ to have a special clause in his contract specifically allowing him to negotiate with PNG for 2028 onwards. Was a great gesture from them considering his importance to the game over there

Luai's options essentially made him a free agent until april 30th. That's why it all got announced so quickly

Terrell May is gonna be the next million dollar man. Tigers throwing big money at him to keep him there. 3 year deal, 3 million is what’s being said.

Taylan May also extends with the tigers on a new 3 year deal. They’re also now trying to sign Tyrone May for next seasons

Rumours going around that the Roosters and Leniu are looking at parting ways. Potentially for this season also.

Not surprising. Yesterday he had 1 run, 3 tackles I think. In fairness, it was when the Broncos had all the momentum.
And he played only for a few minutes. You blink, you miss it.

Tanah Boyd set to be given a long term deal from the warriors which he is going to accept.

Harris-Tevita also has expressed his desire to stay and the warriors are also apparently looking at offering him a new deal.

Metcalf seems to be the odd man out for now. Interested to see where this pans out as 3 doesn’t fit into 2.

Bring him back to play fullback at the Sharkies!
