Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion 2026

Would anyone take Flanno (snr) on as an Assistant Coach?

Personally, I think the game has moved on past him. He had that great window when the football Gods blessed him with those elite players turning up on his doorstep who, according to them pretty much coached themselves.

Actually that's being a bit tough on Flanno. He deserves a lot of credit for our GF win. I still think the game has moved on past him though.
I think he’d be better off going to England and coaching there

Manly are very close to signing Connor Watson for next season on a 3-year deal.
There may even be a chance for an immediate release.

Flanno won't be anywhere near this club in an official capacity again, hell, he will be lucky to survive the season as a coach.

Time to let it go.
Get over in bringing flanno back to the club.

Dogs re sign Tracey for 2 more years.

Erin Clarke extends with the Wahs for 2 more years.

Dragons offer Drinkwater a 3 year deal however his management have rejected it & basically said 'come back to us with a better offer'. Apparently the Dragons will now increase there offer to 3 mil over 3 years.

Loko Pasifiki Tonga & his manager are desperately pushing for an immediate release from the Dragons.

Eels have stated they are looking for an experienced middle & 1 outside back to join them this season and beyond.

Jamie Humpreys has a 2 year offer from the Bears however he is waiting for Souths to see what they offer.

I'm no mathematician but there is an easy answer right there for Eels. Not experienced admittedly, but actively available.

I see NO reason at all why we would just 'give' them Uele, who is a great depth piece if called upon and not contracted after this year as a burden.

Humphreys would be a great signing for Bears, like 'Shart he can play halves or hooker so between them I'm sure* Mal can figure out what's best

Is anyone who watches a bit more of Cup able to say if Ethan Alaia from the Raiders would be a good option? The limited I've seen impressed me, and he's going to be stuck behind Weekes and Strange down there.

Good player, but not necessarily a good option for the Sharks.

No harm in grabbing good prospects if you can get them, but where do they play and who else sits out? Sharks already have Sandy, Paea, Wardrobe and Grantham all sitting out for Flegg and will be facing a “4 doesn’t go in to 3” problem when everyone is healthy for the Jets.

Yeah, it would likely have to be over the top of an Ison/Ford/Puru/Pollard. I guess I was wondering if he'd be more NRL ready than Ford, giving us the bonus of at least two players competing for that fullback jersey if we don't retain Kennedy.

They'd wanna be a very talented looking Cup player (which probably means they don't come dirt cheap) to be being brought in with plan A for fullback being Ison v Ford v New Guy
I think I'd rather keep Kennedy and go Kennedy v Ison v Ford
