Official Signings, Transfers & Recruitment Discussion 2026

I'd actually take Siebold as an assistant.
Absolutely. The bloke knows football and obviously has a lot of experience as a head coach, he just doesn’t seem to last in that role. One step back from that furnace where he can just concentrate on the coaching side of things, I think he’d be a good get.

100% agree mate.

Their season is over so why not. Keep blooding there next generation and get as many minutes into them this season as possible.

Eels are seeking an experienced middle due to their injury crisis.
Offer them Uele or Tommy right now!

Would anyone take Flanno (snr) on as an Assistant Coach?

Personally, I think the game has moved on past him. He had that great window when the football Gods blessed him with those elite players turning up on his doorstep who, according to them pretty much coached themselves.

Actually that's being a bit tough on Flanno. He deserves a lot of credit for our GF win. I still think the game has moved on past him though.
I was a big flanno fan but the gam has moved past him. That “defensive mindset” matters little with the speed of the game. Gotta be able to score too.

Id also be worried about him undermining the head coach any given opportunity. We know he has trouble staying in line. I wouldnt be surprised to see him whiteanting his way through to the top again.

He'll never be a head coach again in the NRL.

Tommy isn't suited to the new way the game is going.
Players like him are soon to be a thing of the past. Signed for 3 years, massive mistake now that we've seen where the game is going.
Yeah but it’s hard to know when and how the nrl rules are going to change. They seem to change it every season, who knows if they revert back again.
