Yeah appointing Mal was beyond dumb. I get it, it's partly marketing but he's a dud.

Probably trying to do a Kevin Sheedy a la GWS. Sheedy was a good coach, Mal is not.

Koula is signed long term too until 2029 I think

I don't think there's a lot of baggage that comes with a club that's been out of the comp for nearly 30 years. Apart from Manly who could even remember if they hated them and why? They were a reasonably popular team with neutrals from my memory.

The Bears had a good look. Good colours, strong logo. A bit of nostalgia, and a few Sydney based people will hang on and provide away support, although those numbers would be getting very low.

Like others have said, Mal was probably the wrong choice. If I'm a player I'm not going there for that. If it's someone else, I'd certainly consider it.
