Apparently they’ve pulled out of the race for him.Leota feels like a Parra signing
Good luck with that.Broncos, Chiefs & Bears have also entered the race for Leota.
Sharks, Warriors, Parra & Knights have all pulled out.
Warriors were said to be the favorites for him but apparently weren't willing to talk further after his asking price was set at around 850k a season. Wants a 3-year deal according to the rumour mill.
If the Bears could get him next year 3 or 4 years on that money would be okay. A strong forward leader would really help their recruitment.Good luck with that.
Yeah really it's only Bears or PNG I reckon who would pay that much for that length of time.If the Bears could get him next year 3 or 4 years on that money would be okay. A strong forward leader would really help their recruitment.
Would need to get him for year 1 though, not Panthers next year then get him.If the Bears could get him next year 3 or 4 years on that money would be okay. A strong forward leader would really help their recruitment.
Bears have said only way they would sign him on that type of money is if he joins them next season.Would need to get him for year 1 though, not Panthers next year then get him.
And unless the money reduced for back end, max 3 years because 850k is a lot.
Be good to see him kick on for another year!Souths have a 1-year deal on the table for Cody Walker.
Almost all players will be ratcheted up though won't they? I assume he just meant $1m each under the current cap. So that would move to whatever it looks like for the new cap.@G.H Shark PVL reckons he wants the cap to be $20m.
Dearden's contract doesn't have a dollar value. He gets paid 12% of cap = $2.4m
Still reckon the Sharks can't pay their halves $1m each?
Lol DW about Hynes and Trindall then, get me Hughes and Cleary then.@G.H Shark PVL reckons he wants the cap to be $20m.

I’ve got some bad news for you then…Lol DW about Hynes and Trindall then, get me Hughes and Cleary then.
Yeah thought this was pretty obvious, not sure why @Sharks NRL Prospects is talking as if it was being discussed against a 20m cap.Almost all players will be ratcheted up though won't they? He said it specifically in reference to a player being signed for 2028.Yeah thought this was pretty obvious, not sure why @Sharks NRL Prospects is talking as if it was being discussed against a 20m cap.
Yeah I get that, still reckon he's talking about the cap in today's terms, though. Guess he can tell us.He said it specifically in reference to a player being signed for 2028.
Even if he hadn’t, anyone who signs more than a one year deal is going to be under the 2028 cap.
Conservative estimate for 2028 cap before today was $15-16m.
Even under today’s cap $1m isn’t that much. Cronk at the Roosters would be over $2m based the 2026 cap. DCE’s second-last Manly contract similar. Ash Taylor $1.6m+
Yeah maybe - but even in today’s terms it’s not a great argument.Yeah I get that, still reckon he's talking about the cap in today's terms, though. Guess he can tell us.
Oh the club didnt announce his signing after broncos game, must be after we play dolphins
He won't be getting paid the same though. Nicho will ratchet up to $1.6m and the $1m goal posts will just move to somewhere around there. Forget the number and just call it marquee money. The argument will endure forever.Geez - if the cap really does go up to $20m you are probably looking at guys like Sexton, Brooks and Pezet being $1m halves. Do we still have to endure everyone bagging Nicho for making a mil after every loss when he’s paid the same as those guys?
(Not calling out GH here. Just sick of the same inaccurate info being recycled).
