James McDowell from Leeds also signs with the Bears.

Anyone know much about him?
 
Dragons making a play @ Bula for 2027.
Be interesting to see how much of a crack Ison gets at #1 this yr for us, as Bula would have been a great target (for the right $$)

I don't want anyone to get injured or be out of form but it would be good to get a look at Ison in firsts this season for at least a few games.

Would be a good Bears signing! Shift Meaney to whichever of centre or wing needs him most.
 
Matt Dufty has been released by Warrington & has signed a 1 year nsw cup deal with souths.

This is not a top 30 deal, it is purely to play for souths nsw cup team.
 
Soni Luke signs with the cowboys effective immediately and joins their top 30.
 
Being reported Angus Crichton has signed with Rugby Australia

Will join waratah next year

Been around on good money long enough he can take a 1year contract to chase something like a Rugby WC.

Knows barring catastrophic injury he can walk back into League... and may even prefer to. And if he has any success in 27 then plenty of Rugby contracts will be available too, probably more than they are offering now. Including, as Sparkles says, R360.

Probably won't know until round 1, every chance Soni is not in the game day squad.
I guess if it goes up to a 19 man team he would be though, which would definitely cloud whether the plan is to give him minutes or not.

Has been playing 5-8 so I guess they could go 1 Meaney 6 Croft 7 Sexton 9 Wishart
... not the most exciting, but should be 'solid'. Want a lot better than 'solid' for your spine if you want to get even close to looking at top 8 though.

Personally I wanted Wishart at 6 just because a Shart-Sex halves combo is much funnier...

With the rest of their signings to date another team would really have to throw away their season to out spoon them.

If they had good enough other players I am sure those guys have the capability to pass it to them...

The way things are shaping up I really think they needed someone like a Jayden Campbell so they could at least look exciting while they lost.
