(finds out he has an allergy to Kiwi fruit and can't go)
Mooney has got his work cut out…..
Let’s hope Mooney doesn’t fly the coop if Flanno gets the dogs gig!
We could potentially lose some serious players (more than normal) if we don’t lock them up before any Flanno announcements

Dunno we have that many players who’d be too attached to Flanno?

Why would Mooney want ti go anywhere? He could be part of a big legacy at this club.

Other then guys off contract this season there are not too many left who were recruited by Flanno or played much NRL for him (Ramien, Katoa, Rudolf, Williams, BHU) but you’d have to think many of the guys who came through Bomber’s 20’s had a lot to do with him in pre-seasons, Auckland/Perth Nines, or as T&T during the season.

Guys like Wilton, Ronnie, Kennedy, Trindall, Nikora would have all spent 100’s of hours around him, if not training directly under him.

I was thinking if Mooney leaves to join Flanno at the dogs, then the first players they will possibly approach could be the players that they already have an association with.

Players who have been involved with both Mooney and Flanno coming off contract might be more enticed and we have an abnormally higher percentage that fit that criteria which MAY be a concern (possibly but not necessarily).

But thanks for the telepathy session Spark’s.
How much do I owe you?

WK will be locked up. Katoa & Ronny I'm not sure would be in high demand.

I don't see Mooney or anyone we wanna keep jumping off our ride for the Dogs TBH. Not yet.

Hey Mooney why not come to the dogs?
You get to work with Flanno again… except Gus is both your boss… and we have no useable cap space for three years

Other than Berrell who might just take what he can get I don't see any of those players not being here or willfully wanting to go elsewhere. They all love the place or feel grateful to the club in some way.

Give them a fair reasonable offer / upgrade and we should be in the prime seat to retain them

A desperate club might throw a stupid overs offer at Kennedy or Talakai though so we need to be ready for that

That's whats good about some of those other players on the list in bold, they are very good players, guns on their day but not so well known or hyped that we should have to get in a big bidding war over them. They might fly under the radar a bit so to speak but they are quality players but ofcourse their profile and popularity still does build over time but not to the extent a club will throw the bank at them.

These player are still young enough to invest time and money in and are likely going to keep improving.

The squad is in a good place it's just a matter of bringing it all together on the field and making a few astute buys for 2023 onwards in the forwards and maybe halves. We seem to have backline and utility depth coming out of our ass. Another second rower option could be handy as well if Wade is let go.

I'm sure they're just an overpaid winger off bringing it all together too.
