Did he play centre in the lower grades?

Probably should move this to another thread so we don't pollute Burgo's thread.

Won’t be surprised if we extend him into next year at some point.

Dunno if I’m reading to much into this or wanting to believe but when he was accessing his playing options he said he lent on Bellamy for some advice, Bellamy suggested us as being a good fit.

God I hope there was more to that convo, like

‘Sign a deal with the Sharks, I’m looking to go there, we’ll discuss 2022 when I start in November’

the conversation was probably more like, go there, check it out, see what the people are like and report back to me within the month

Be interested to hear Burgess's thoughts on Ryan Rivett (if you haven't mentioned him already). I saw someone post about him on Facebook and had a look at one of his highlights packages. Looks very poised in what he does for a young fella.

Check out the SG Ball thread for some input on Ryan from myself and a couple of the other guys who keep an eye on the juniors.

Cheers.

OK yeah, plenty of interesting observations. Looking forward to seeing how he develops.

I always take a highlights package with a grain of salt because most players will look alright when you piece together their best and most fortunate moments.

His was different though. Seemed to have that class without even trying element to it. Like he doesn't hope something's going to work, he knows something's going to work.

Yeah - looks a good prospect. Did you watch the highlights from this year? Plenty of good touches from him.

Now the pressure is on us to lock in a halves pairing for 2022. I assume we will need at least one signing (unless a SJ and Moylan partnership is in Fitz's mind)

Reynolds and SJ would be around the 1.4 mil mark together - not bad for a potential top 3 halves combination.

Throw in an improving Will Kennedy and Brailey on not so big $ and our spine can do some damage

Yeah if Kennedy and Brailey can both improve a little further still and the two older boys spend most of the season on the park and in decent form that's a very competent spine
