Sharks screwed the pooch last week. Were up 28-16 with 15 to go and let the Tigers roll over the top of them and lost 30-28.

Taukamo was impressive in attack and and pretty much had a hand in every try or line-break, but he has got some mistakes in him and has some work to do positionally/defensively (note that he is a 16-year old playing u19's). Hardy had some nice touches too, but wasn't involved enough for my liking.

Equation this week is:

- They MUST beat the Bulldogs by 5 points or more, and one or more of the following MUST happen:

* Manly beats Balmain, or
* Balmain beats Manly by a margin of 8 or more, or
* Norths beat Illawarra by more than 20 (this one is not happening. Norths are bad).

Manly play Balmain before the Sharks play, so they will know by kick-off where they stand.

Impressive to be a standout attacker at 16 in u19s
For sure. It will be interesting to see what they do with him when the SG Ball season ends. They could play him at 6 in Flegg or could leave Dykes with the Jets to free up the #1 jersey.

Half time Sharks and Bulldogs 8-all. Must win by 5 or more to stay alive.

Manly v Balmain has been moved to Sunday afternoon.

3 tries in 11 minutes - woohoo.

Up by 8 with 3 minutes to play.

Won 26-24.

Puts them 7th, equal with the Dogs in 6th but 4 points below them on f/a.

There is still a mathematical chance to sneak in, but it would require 13th-place Norths beating 4th-place Illawarra by 27 points.

Would have been nice to have played that (cancelled) round 5 match against the bottom-of-the-table Dragons to pump up the f/a, but the boys had their chances in the final moments over the last two weeks and couldn't get it done.

Siteni is 18 or turning 18 this year
Thanks for clarifying.

Checked back through the info available. Looks like he is a late birthday so that threw me off. Was on ASSRL u15 team in 2019 which makes him a 2004 birthday. I’ll fix it up in post #1.

Being a late birthday, it’s still impressive he can be so dominant against players up to 18 months older than him.

Lawson Cotter has re-signed until the end of 2025.

(I think) he is born in 2004, so still eligible for SG Ball next year. Contract would take him though to 21.

Quite a few of the SG Ball team are playing for De La Salle in the Illawarra A Grade comp.

So far… Demeio, Jarvis, Hay, Cocco, Levi, Patterson, and Manuafetoa

Luke Raymond has re-signed for 2023-24.

Not 100% sure on his age, but I think he is born in 2004.
