Random Sharks history link of the day 🤣...

Will Kennedy's dad (Balmain) playing Craig Fitzgibbon, and taking an intercept off Trent Barrett, with a try to Laloa Milford (16:25 in):

Also a try at 19:56.

Yes, they stopped it at 5 mins so people wouldn't run on to the field. Some used to do it with a few seconds to go potentially ruining the last plays of the match. So with it stopped at 5 mins, the crowd wouldn't know when the siren was going to sound, making it harder for them to invade the field before full time.

I forgot about the 5-minute stoppage!

Sharks should bring back running on the field "after the second siren".

I know there are probably extra costs with extra security and some security risks, but this used to be the best part of the game for kids (and some adults!).

Well there you go. I also thought it was to add to the excitement of not knowing when the game would finish.

On that note - I wish that players couldn't see the timer for drop outs. It annoys me how they just stand there for 10 seconds waiting for it to get to a couple of seconds to go.

Haha yep. Kids would line up on the fence hoping to grab the corner post! Great times.

100% agree with this. As a kid we'd go out and recreate plays we'd just watched from the game. Such great memories.

Totally agree , but unfortunately it is not going to happen .

Besides the risk aspects for the kids & the club the media also seems to take over on the field post game .

Our players don't even do an occasional lap of the field these days .

Pre Covid, didn't they used to make one game a year where they organised kids to come on the field? I remember the announcements over the PA.

Yeah they could just choose a few games at least. 2pm Sunday games would be perfect, though we didn't get any of those this year. 4pm Sundays would be fine too.

At the moment the whole game day experience feels pretty canned and packaged for TV. Bring some life back to it. Bring back the Pepsi ball :)

When there is room on the hill, bring the big shark jumping castle back.

I guess we are still lucky that kids can see players as they arrive at the ground though.
