I didn’t see a Harold Matts thread and its probably well known by now but the Sharkies made the GF to be played this Saturday.

It was televised but I didn’t watch it, sounds like they did well to win. Two sin bins meant they were scrambling a lot.

They play Wests Magpies, which in their game against the Raiders had players run in from the bench to start a push and shove. 3 got sent off and could be suspended for this game. So that can only be good for us.

It was a win built on a courageous second half defensive effort as the Sharks held off the Sydney Roosters to book their place in the Matthews Cup Grand Final.

Reduced to 12-players for the 10 of the last 11 minutes of the match, the Sharks showed great resolve to maintain their two-point advantage and claim the 14-12 win, setting up a clash with the Western Suburbs Magpies to decide the 2022 NSW Under-17 champions.

The Magpies, who finished as minor premiers, qualified for the Grand Final with an overtime victory over the Canberra Raiders.

The Sharks were fourth after the regular season, before wins over the Eels and Roosters to qualify for a Grand Final match-up scheduled for Saturday at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta.

The game is set to kick off at 12.45pm as the second of three junior rep Grand Finals at CommBank, with the Tarsha Gale Cup match at 11am, followed by the SG Ball decider at 2.30pm.

So anyone follow this age group?
Anyone care to make a bold prediction we have any young guys that have future FG written all over them?

I don't follow it, but from what I've heard from others, Chevy Stewart (Kurnell junior) is the standout, but other clubs are after him.
So Chevy is the one being chased, not doing the chasing.

Do we know what he said to the ref? Must have been pretty bad to get sent off.

I didn’t see it but someone commented it was what the Warriors player sent a few weeks ago to get suspended. So can’t confirm.

Huge turning point in the game and for the captain to do it is not good. Think he got binned last week too.

Thanks. Let's leave it at that. Not good but he will learn from it.

Obviously wrong reaction regardless but I would be interested to know whether frustration was more about fact they were losing in general or actual contentious or even bad calls.

Doesn't excuse it and still should be handled differently by player, especially captain.
