The ref is a local High school teacher in the Shire. Great bloke working his way through the ranks. Need more refs in the game than bagging them.

I think that’s best for BT (80 mins in the halves) Considering he has had something like 20 mins of football as a utility effectively over 4 rnds (2 due to suspension)
I think technically he could still be part of the squad tomorrow. Xavier Savage just played the first half and was pulled at half time to be NRL 18th man.

Can he play 80 and still be 18th man? Or does the NRL limit to just 40 to be eligible?

It would be a big effort I know but given the chances of even getting onto the pitch as 18th man ….…..

He could play anywhere 1-17. The only rule is that you can’t start an NRL game and then play NSW Cup after. There are no rules restricting anything else in either direction under normal circumstances.

Right now there is also a rule in place for Covid that there has to be 20 players available for the game day squad. The Sharks have listed 1-17 and kept 3 out of the Jets game (Williams, Hiroti, Hunt), so someone who plays for the Jets today will need to be part of that 20. It’s possible Trindall keeps his spot.
