It’s disappointing. I imagine the business case for a NRLW team would have been partly based on getting a Centre of Excellence and stadium upgrades (such as dressing rooms) too.

Maybe it shows that lobbying doesn’t work as well these days when politicians are scared of being caught in pork barrelling or bullying scandals, particularly if they’re safe anyway.

Hopefully it’s just a setback, or that it might be announced some other day. Otherwise it’s another reason for Shire people to make their seats more marginal

We were only meant to get funding for a CoE of we made it for the community.

That's why we made it 'Pasifika' themed.

Someone must have poo pooed the idea somewhere

Hopefully the new club will be a great revenue stream. They are going to need to do something different to draw the young crowd away from the new venue being built at north cronulla.

Sharks related ?
In a nutshell:

- Sharks originally sold development rights to Capital Bluestone (CB) to construct the WBTC (Woolooware Bay Town Precinct) over 4 stages. This included 3 residential stages on the Western side (completed) and the 4th and final Commercial/ residential on the Leagues club

- CB appointed Parkview as the builder

- CB were brought out by Aoyan sometime during the first 3 stages. Construction continued as normal.

- Aoyan have just sold 51% of their stake to Adrian Law Family Trust. Adrian holds a high level position at Aoyan.

- Construction remains the same by Parkview. Nothing changes from Sharks perspective.
