On a plus note it is great we're getting into it. It's not going to be a huge POD since most clubs will have one but it keeps us on an even playing field. One advantage we'll have is everything is in the same area - stadium, training facilities etc

Wasn't if said before the centre of excellence with have a Pacific Island theme? Then announce a partnership with the Fijian Canterbury cup team and that's a pretty good way to get federal funding

It will be but very corporate focused to compete with the likes of Bankwest and new SFS going by the plans. Hence there will be some extra grandstand seating but plenty more corporate boxes, decks and lounges.

Still a good outcome if we are getting funding for parts of the actual stadium that way.

Yeah though I reckon it's getting ridiculous when Matt Canavan has to declare he was a Cowboys member when they received a grant....

The State Government pledged $8 million but we have to match it, and the Federal Government would have been the best chance of that.

Not as far as I know.... they would announce an $8 million grant far and wide.

Otherwise they are admitting they did the wrong thing.

I've seen it mentioned a few times in the press of 12 million promised from Federal government though nothing official has ever come from the club
