For sure. I was more interested in the part about the NRL purchasing Shark Park and PVL’s comments around investing in their clubs and looking at what returns that may produce across a range of areas.

What we think that would look like if the NRL purchased Shark Park or somehow invested in it?
I would not like to see them purchase it, any future administration would have us at their mercy.

I also can't see how they would get a monetary return on a partial investment. Unless we did something like a Centre of Excellence/grandstand/commercial suites on western side of the ground, but still doubt that would make money overall.

Hopefully they can invest with the aim of a return via successful athlete pathways.

Glad to see them looking at all ideas though.

They have mentioned in the past $30-40 million I think. For development only obviously.

I don't know what it would be worth if NRL owned it, and Sharks leased it. Don't think that will ever happen though
Yep, won't happen.

we would never sell stadium but I could see the portion part. Though additional income from seats and corporate, nrl gets a portion of that.

Maybe they put $ to match ours for COE and Ezra dollars for the upgrade (extension of et and change rooms

40 million is the valuation on the land.

i dont see what the ROI is for the league to buy in here.
but certainly, if we can get COE money, that would be great. also allows us to do extra stuff at the ground in the freed up space

40mil seems a bit high. Either way, the ROI is the increase in land value as asset. That 40mil (or whatever it is) will be worth double that in about 15 years.

Considering we paid 90k back in 1968

That's around 5% return p.a. PVL said he wants more than that on investments in that clip.

Financially sure. He specifically calls out being interested in other returns though.

He was also pretty clear that they could have milked the broadcast deal for more money, but weren't prepared to at the cost of the fans. I.e splitting the rights to multiple streaming partners.

I genuinely believe he's not all about the money.

Maybe but I still don't see value in them buying a ground like Shark Park, especially in the state it's in. Just won't happen imo.
