Replaced? Not sure the last time it ever was mate.

So you're saying that cause it's concrete and we only use it 12 times a year for only two hours of that time we can't upgrade or renovate it?

Yeah I get we have no money to upgrade for it, but no wonder we've struggled to convince companies to put their name to this park. It's old, dated, run down and it looks like we're desperately holding onto some sort nostalgia that's long gone.

Dont get me wrong, I love the place, but it does not show any professionalism and modernisation with Shark Park. We have Woollooware Bay surrounding us, looking amazing, then this clunk of a park stadium.

Again, our financial situation puts us in this position.
Ok so we spend xx million putting new stand(s) in. Do we only expect it to last 20 years? Then we're back in the same position again. There should be a longer lifespan expected for this type of infrastructure. Sure there's no roof, that's a shame. But ultimately, you'll be replacing concrete stand with plastic seats with the exact same thing.

The perception that these stadiums should be replaced often is ridiculous, and was set as an expectation when the government funded the rebuilding of a near identical SFS for no major improvement. Waste of taxpayers money, more to pass public funds to a builder than any real infrastructure improvement.

Funnily enough, they are now complaining about the new Penrith stadium not having a proper roof and not being much of an improvement. Cost cutting and kind of shows why it doesn't make sense to just keep rebuilding this stuff.

It's an interesting thought hey. I wonder what the ground is worth to a developer? Obviously the best scenario would be an upgrade, but what if playing out of an upgraded Jubilee with an extra 50m+ could turn us into a financial powerhouse.

It's not an awful consolation prize if we ended up not being able to play at Shark Park.
And it would be great looking out from the new Chairman's lounge windows or the club open deck staring at those wonderful multi storey buildings right in front and reminiscing about the " good old days " at Sharks Park as we wait for the announcement that the member shuttle to Jubilee is about to leave .

It's very tough to compare Jubilee due to Covid, but I don't think we would have got much more there even without it.

Yeah no doubt comparing the two now I'd rather go to shark park. Just wonder if there's a world where it might be taken out of our hands, and whether a combined effort could see an upgrade at jubilee that benefits both.

There is absolutely a world where that happens. If you subscribe to the multi-verse theory you could even be the coach.

If we were fronting up for our 5th home prelim of the decade I could be okay with it. Especially if we were able to walk down to Sharkies 2 on the site of the old st George leagues club after the win.

Agenda item number 1 is for Nicho to be the 6 and 7.
Nikora and Burns playing right edge back row while Nikora and Gabriel play right centre. I’m not sure how that works but thankfully you have an absolute all-star cast of assistant coaches to help you figure that out.

But what have we rebuilt? What's an actual major work on our stadium that's happened beside the Monty Porter Stand back in 2008?

Of course the stand will need to be updated as the club grows, you're saying that we shouldn't touch it for another 20 years?

The stands have been around since the 70/80s? We don't even have proper facilities for the womens team.

All I'm saying is that our stadium is outdated and up to a poor standard in the world of professional sport. Unfortunately we don't have the money nor the government support to back it.

And you all think I'm crazy with my left edge suggestions such as how about we don't play a second rower out there

That’s another hurdle for @Proud Shark and his assistants to worry about.

There could be a universe where we can clone Wade. How many do you think you could handle?

Exactly, so what's the point in complaining if there's no solution.

The Peter Burns Concourse got built in 95-96 offseason with Super League money

its not at all feasible to rebuild for us

we could replace the seats tho, they look pretty dated
(do that thing ive seen on tik tok where you quickly use a flame gun on the plastic and it brings all the oil back to the surface)

i think we could make within reasonable budget improvements to improve the experience in the ground

without a huge cash injection (and i mean huge, i put a bunch of stuff in chat gpt and the costs these days are staggering) the place will just be what it is

The biggest issue isn't seats or concrete, its simply:

1. Amenities (toilets, changer rooms, food / drink stations etc)
2. Lack of corporate facilities
3. Protection from inclement weather (ie leaks in Grandstand roof, localised flooding around the ground etc)

Well get back corporate facilities with leagues club
And I think some improvements would be with Stage 3 but yet unfunded
