Thinking logically (with no insight to what Flanagan could be on);

As he's been indefinitely de-registered by the NRL, would it be fair to assume he would then forfeit his salary for next year? If so, I can only assume that the sum of this could equate to all, if not a large portion of the subsequent financial penalty?

This would also go a long way as to why John Morris and / or Dymock are the best choices for stand-in coaches as any accompanying remuneration package would be substantially less than hiring a new coach and counter productive in the overall immediate financial stability.

He will be given a time-frame to lodge an appeal with NRL. I presume his legal representatives would have commenced it and awaiting the final findings and penalty before finalising the grounds and lodging. After holiday period, there is only 2 months before commencement of season so I assume the time-frame will be skinny. One would thus assume between lodgement and determination should not take longer than 4-6 weeks.

It could go all the way to the High Court, I think. But he/us would go broke fighting it.

NRL will require 12 months to prepare their legal case. Holidays and all.

Lets pull a Bennett and let Flanno sit in the coaches box during games. The formulas already written for our new coach.

"Because I invited him. It's still a free country isn't it?" Bennett said of Gee's attendance. "I don't tell the NRL who I am bringing to the game. He's not a criminal.

"He's a friend of mine. He can come and sit in the box with me any time he wants.

"What's wrong with you guys?"

I think BR was really good in that press conference. Let’s be honest, we do need strong leadership and he seems to be keen on providing it. Sure, what he has done by self reporting has ****ed us big time but he did the right thing. Hopefully we will survive this and be a much better run club in terms of governance and perceived culture. Our next signing as coach is crucial.

First post from a long time supporter from as far back as our 2nd Division days so I guess I've seen my fair share of mayhem and mishaps at the Sharks.

On Flanno, thanks for the Premiership, though given his lack of regard for the rules one can't help but wonder if it may always have a slight tang to it. Time to move on.

Barry Russell has opened a can of worms, however the big wrigglers, Steve Noyce and Darren Mooney, have long since moved on to other dung heaps.

BR talks of integrity, and what he now has is the opportunity to sanitise the club and get rid of any remaining deadwood. Professionalism at all levels is an absolute must. Only then may we have a chance of attracting sponsors.

We have the personnel to win the comp next year and I think the coaching staff to help them. All we need is someone to get into their heads to extract the best from them.

What I really want to know is...

How the **** is an unrelated matter discovered, investigated and sentenced faster than the original matter that triggered the Audit?

Haha ok. Well one of the other mods / admins must be approving accounts. Your backdoor was a very smart one.
