Appreciate it your opinions based on your expectations.

I would suggest that Tolman probably did the exact job he hoped he would, though I think it's fair to say that no-one was particularly excited about it. We sure warmed to the guy though, especially with that milestone try (crash play courtesy of Brailey, the legend).

Thought Hunt all but locked down a starting spot, which continued his trajectory and only increased my man love from last year.

Rudolf also took a step forward to lay claims to a starting spot.

Arguably Kennedy dropped off somewhat from last year, though it was a pretty disrupted season for him.

And though I might agree on Wilton, I don't think I can blame him for it. I'm pretty happy to pick up a pitchfork with the rest of you loonies and march over to Wade's place.

And yep, Talakai...! What was it you thought made his season average? Just expecting a lot already?

Yes I had high expectations for Talakai this season , also for BHU & Hunt .

After all the hype about our improved defence the first try against us in both finals was scored by forwards close to our line , not to mention 30 or more points total against us in each game. In the build-up to last week's game I posted on this forum that our forwards would get on top of Souths & therefore neutralise impact of Cody & Latrell. Well that was proved wrong within minutes .

Rudolf still makes me nervous that he will lose the ball or play it incorrectly ( just like Fifita use to ) . Although I acknowledge his great try against the Cowboys I also recall he also missed a key tackle on the line in the finals .

Talakai had a couple of standout games (eg Manly) got picked for SOO but then his impact faded . Opposition marked him more closely , he got injured , but I also believe he was carrying an injury into games .

I recall Hunt having one or two top games towards end of the season but I was disappointed overall because I hope he would step up this season after a disrupted year last year . Unfortunately didn't fire in finals & I still can't forget a time in Coffs were he was given the ball in middle of the field & stood still asking " why me I just had a run ".

But for me the real disappointment overall was the on-field Finucane but acknowledge suspensions & injuries didn't help

It's tough on Talakai to judge his season on that Manly game though. He was still a big contributor without single handedly tearing teams apart, in a role he wasn't meant to play.

The whole team falls into 'below expectations' for the finals games for mine... ugh.
Hunt looks like earning a starting spot based on his year, which gives him a tick this season I reckon.

The hard part is we never really know how bad those injuries are and how much they affect their performance

That fade in impact didn't happen to coincide with anything else did it?

Like a ball-playing edge, incapable of playing with the ball, replacing a line bending straight runner who places constant pressure on opposing defences?

Wade ruined Sifa's season and he still managed to be amazing for us regardless

The shoulder injury he picked up around same time probably didn’t do him any favours either, although I do agree Wade was a factor

Reading some of this **** is crazy it’s like we won the wooden spoon.
We finished the season with an 18-6 record with a rookie coach.
You need things to go your way to win a premiership it didn’t

It's only because of our soft draw we did not get the spoon.
The big question is do we get the hard draw next year?
Based on club performances verse expectations this year, it'll include half the top 8... And we'll finish second again
