Under a lot of pressure, but played well.

Hoping to see him in firsts in years to come.

Good for him. I bet the name brought back some memories for many too.

Given he was pretty much playing prop he did OK. I actually think that there could be a role for him as a bench utility over the next couple of years. Playing a role similar to Ryan Hinchcliffe and covering an injury to Ennis.

Went to school with scott, good to see him make it.

Never thought he'd get there but big props to him, had to overcome plenty of injuries and missed the majority of his 20's career through injury from memory. Very versatile player and plays with a lot of heart. Was being dominated in his hitups a lot of the time but never stopped putting his hand up for the ball.

Sounds good. I didn't see much of the game today.

Still fairly young to be be playing hard up through the middle, particularly if he is more of a utility type player. It'd be hard going making a debut that way with very few seasoned hard heads there. Glad to hear he didn't take a backward step.

TOO RIGHT! Fantastic to see and have that surname in our colours again! Regalled my son with stories of Sorensons pre game.Thats who he then asked about all game- just hope fully one day young Scott will be the one doing, instead of receiving, the smashing!

Absolutely mate, how good was it! The old man and I reminisced yesterday about Dane and Kurt. Their Mum used to sit near us in the PB stand back when they were playing. If she ever heard anyone say a bad word about them during the game she fired right up haha. Classic stuff.

I think the 15 debuts tally would mean "debuts for the Sharks", counting blokes like Ayshford and Prior. Unless I missed 6 people when I counted, which I wouldn't be surprised if I did. :drunk

Ok game on debut, needs to spend next season in reserves just to hone his skills. But the potential is there.

Memory lane, Harold thanks for the story. Thought they were now living on the Goldy?

Used to love Kurt Sorensen's charges into the opposition. He was a bloody hard bloke to tackle. Dane was an honest toiler who had Michael Gordon syndrome. Totally incapable of passing the ball. But very strong and one who could be relied upon to do the heavy work. I remember a game back in 1978 when we were playing for the minor premiership - it was against Wests in the last round. Dane got sent off for an elbow to the throat (can't remember the Wests player) and was suspended for a few weeks. I was sitting where the Monty Porter stand is now and saw the incident right in front of the posts. Didn't miss him that's for sure. Great memories!

And look what being exposed to violence on the footy field has done to you, mate. Those soccer mums are onto something alright.

Yeah mate didn't worry me. Although I did always shy away from any fisticuffs when I was a young fella. Now as well. Never thrown a punch in my life.
But put me on the soccer field, the cricket field and I could be aggressive that's for sure. You can have controlled aggression and not be a violent person.

I remember seeing a photo in the paper after a game in the late seventies - Dane Sorensen standing in a massive barrel of iced water and having a beer. Don't know how he could stand it but I believe he did this regularly at the home games. Dane was the honest toiler, Kurt had loads of aggression and good ball skills (for a forward)

he had to do that every game because his cartilage on his knee caps were gone, hard men in those days
