Our whole back 4 were pretty ordinary.
Hiroti tried hard but wasn't as good as he's been in the past. I'm not holding one game against him.

Well we need a second winger on the books next year at this stage. I'd prefer him over pretty well anyone on the market.

He's 24 in July, whilst not old he's not exactly some unheralded rookie. I just don't see anything about his game that makes me want him in first grade here.

he's tall, fast and not afraid to take the hard hitups, can finish a movement and can definitely score a try or two. He's worth investing in

I can counter that with he's ordinary under the high ball, not nearly as fast as a lot of wingers and gets smashed most of the time when he does hit it up. Pretty much every try he's scored would be scored by any NSW Cup winger.

Still a work in progress for sure, but he's on the up. Katoa isn't. So out of those two I'd take Sam. I also think his hit ups have been much improved this year, and he's had some good games under the high ball, some bad ones too. He's also the fastest in our side, so it's still a bonus.
That said, I'm not expecting him to be a world beater. If we signed an elite winger I wouldn't be upset. There's a chance he is usurped by someone like Williams in 2 years or so.

He isn't going to be a rep player, but he is improving and that's about all we can ask for
Think of players like Feki, Katoa ect. there was alot of issues in their game they had to fix up when they came into first grade and it took a bit of time but they got there

I like SS' attitude this year. He is really running with some venom in those tough carries.

I'll give SS a lot of credit there. He always runs into the line with force. He does get smashed a bit, but he always gets straight back up.

He sure is. I reckon give him another two off seasons to bulk up and he'll be even better. As @Gards said, he won't be a star, but he's decent and the least of our issues.
