Official Samuel Stonestreet

Supporting Brailey up the middle vs Warriors in 2024 and reeling in Trindall's pass bound for row 3 vs Manly are a couple that come to mind.

Also had plenty (and bombed a few) where he just had to catch and put down.

Good prospect. Just needs to get better at the little things (like most young players) and he will be a full time starter.
Yeah I remember some of the bombed ones but considering I was probably forgetting some tries where he had to do a bit more than just catch & put it down I thought I’d let it slide & be more balanced & not be critical.

I’d love to see him open up, by all reports he’s real quick but yet to see it so far, there has been the odd occasion where I thought here we go but he was probably a little gassed when he’s had the chance & didn’t get to see the real pace?

Remember hearing this about Sione when he first came in.

He's certainly not Hammer/Walsh quick, but he appears quicker than what we have currently.

We have probably been blessed with how Fitz was able to introduce KL Iro slowly into first grade so by the time he came into the team he was more than ready

I'm sure Fitz would have loved to do the same for SS but unfortunately he didn’t have the same luxury.

I have no doubt SS has the potential to be a good NRL player. However, there's no doubt at this point in time it is a big step down from Ronnie.

We need to give him the good chunk of time between now and when Ronnie gets back to fully find his feet in first grade - and not judge him one game at a time. There will be some hiccups along the way which we need to expect.

We will know in 3 or 4 months time if he is a going to be a good long term prospect.
Yeah, I think it was clear that Sam was still not physically at a full time first grade level. I did love his speed, energy and in particular, his heart - he never seemed to shy away from contact or high balls. That's a great sign. Hopefully he spent the offseason wrestling Fitz (or Gal now?) and is hardened for a long campaign

I don't think I ever thought he shied away from contact with ball in hand, just is still working on his physicality in contact. Has made some improvements but it's just not a strength of his still.
High ball definitely a bit of a concern when it looks like it should be a strength. Something we really need him to improve on. We don't want a winger doing worse than Sione (who does fine) when he is half a foot taller.

Sam Stonestreet. He's got wheels baby :)

Makes CNK look like he is stuck in mud.

Really? I thought CNK kept up pretty well there.

How good was Xerri's try with us against I think Penrith? I think his first NRL try maybe?

Edit: Second one here. I almost wet myself at the time

And just like that the ******* did what he did, and we will never see him in our colours again.

Don't even rate him much now anyways so not to fussed.

Some good points, I think all on here would want him to go well, if he’s going well it means are team are probably or collectively going better.

With his 16 tries in 16 games, it’s a bloody good strike rate but to be fair (I could be wrong) I don’t think Sam did anything extraordinary to get them, ie, plucked a try out of nowhere himself, that said, kudos to him for finishing off some nice inside work that went towards creating the opportunity for us to score.
just like darius for qld or johnson for the bunnies. being in right position can make it look easy at times

Remember hearing this about Sione when he first came in.

Sione’s quick off the mark (which is how he beats so many defenders) so I can see why he gave the impression of being a speedster.

However he’s a lot like Tricky in that he’s quick in a burst, but god help us if he needs to sprint further than 30 meters (or in Trindall’s case, 20).

Can he jump puddles?
