Have been trying to get back into it again and the fitness is definitely way down.
One thing that's made a huge difference to how the body holds up is stretching. I've started doing 15 mins of stretches each morning and it's made a huge difference to how I feel during and after a run*. It's easy to sqeeze it in most days and sets me up better for the day in general.

*colelctive term for run, jog, walk, wheeze, pant, collapse, duck into the pub

I run nearly every day, usually 4kms which takes about 30 mins on the treadmill. On the weekends I have been doing parkrun at Menai, it’s a 5km run. Did it in about 27 minutes a couple weeks ago.

Running is good fun. Stick to it with a good diet and you will lose weight.

Anyone here in any running clubs around the shire?

I've done a lot of running in the past, lots of long races, but haven't done one for 4 years now. Kids in the way.

Looked at my Garmin a few weeks back and noticed I'd only done 500km this year. Almost cried.

Have hit 70km the last few weeks which is nothing compared to what I used to do ☹️ I need to pick a race and commit.

That’s a lot of running mate, well done.

Have you always been a runner?

Nah not always mate. Started maybe 20 years ago to lose weight and then started doing races in 2008.
Similar to what I have been doing mate. Started it to lose weight, actual enjoy it but haven’t done any races.

Would love to one day.

Yeah I find it's the most enjoyable exercise for me, my mind wanders off which I love.

I’ll pop a $50 in when I get paid on Friday mate. My 4 year old is autistic so this cause does hit me a bit. All the appreciation and respect in the world to you for taking this on. Thank you.
