Sounds like the Maffetone method.

Losing weight is the best thing, running is the best exercise for that imo.
If you have not run before, just need to be careful. It is very easy to blow those knees up and get injured. I consider swimming is the best exercise for losing weight but then again I am biased.

I had a weird injury one day. I'd escalated jogging to a few 10k runs a week and out of nowhere my left knee ballooned up. It wouldn't fit in a jeans leg and wouldn't support my weight for like a week. The physio found no issues at all, it had never happened before and it's not happened since... it just went away. Running is so dumb, I half feel like it was my bodies way of trying to make me do something interesting instead

Good old runner's knee. It's what physio call it when they have NFI what it is :)

haha that was the exact diagnosis. That, and come back and see me three times for some half-hearted massage and a few 'rehab' squats.
Spewin' actually, as I learned that the other physio at the centre is a mad Sharks supporter, and I've overheard him mentioning some current players.. I think he might know some of them or the staff. I just need to find a way to break up with the current guy (Nicho style, you know) and start seeing him

i had a similar one after our basketball grand final in feb

no injury during the game, nothing, next morning, couldnt bend my leg and couldnt get it through my suit pants

took 4 months for it to feel right, nothing came up on a scan, nothing the physio could find

The physio reckons that runners (and any sports where you run a lot I guess) actually have healthier joints in general, and that the extra miles strengthen rather than wear them out. Always thought the opposite. The weird-ass clicks and random inflating joints don't give me a lot of confidence though...
