Off topic. I did the shark island ocean swim down at cronulla a couple of months back. Really beautiful swim, crystal clear water. Coming back next year for it definately.

How's the training going for C2S, Deano?
Pretty poorly. Been on and off with a knee injury and an ankle injury giving me grief every time I think I'm back to being fine one of them goes on me again.

I think I'll be able to run it all but I'm going to get a bad time if I do. At the moment my knee is like a beach ball from AFL on the weekend so hopefully that goes down.

Don't run this week. You don't gain or lose anything in the week leading into a run either way. It's good to keep your legs moving though so maybe go for a cycle or kick in the pool.

You will be fine.

Yeah I've been trying to hit the exercise bike every night when I can't get out for a run. This week will just be some light work on the exercise bike for me don't want to risk the knee not getting better in time.

I got down to about 12min 30 seconds to 13 minutes then stopped doing 3km and focused on 10km minimums then I hurt my knee. Since hurting my knee I've put 8kg back on and only done it once at 15 odd minutes.

Im just doing it to improve my sport and get rid of a bit of the beer belly. Wouldn't mind getting into it but my knees suffer a fair bit.

It could mean you have weak quads and/or adductors. It's very common in new runners. The larger muscles aren't doing enough work so the knees suffer as a result. Of course that may not be it at all.

I've had problems with my knees for a few years now which traces back into a few other health issues I had.

Fair enough mate, I won't ask why your knees are dodgy....lol.

Good luck though. Let us know how you go.

Hey Deano, just checked the best time for 3km in the cross country times, 11 mins, not bad for an 11 yr hey!
An 11 year old doing 11 minutes sounds bloody good. I'm not the fittest of blokes but it took me a fair bit of work to get to where I was.
