but but but is he 185 or 186 cm, dual height stats recorded, but confirmed at 110kg. Splitting hairs?

Would you rather me write ‘welcome aboard you slightly above average sized unit’?

Doesn’t really have the same ring doesn’t it?

Good stuff, I didn't realise all 3 had NRL experience. Sounds like Talakai will be in as soon as Morris leaves too.

I know he has played NRL because there was a Rabbits/Penrith game a few years ago Talakai was playing against Malakai on debut and it a commentary nightmare.

If Morris goes soon it will likely be Talakai or Ferris who replaces him, depending on where Bomber sees the more need, and we will wait until June to fill the 30th spot.
If Morris hangs around a bit longer Jets games will be underway and form will play more of a role.

Thnaks didn't realise how many development players there were, I should have read the sticked thread!

With Talakai now confirmed that is him plus Josh Carr, Jackson Ferris, Kyle Patterson, Daniel Vasquez and Jack A. Williams on Dev contracts.

We are by no means required to promote any of them over signing someone different. It's possible if Morris left we sign someone who was on a train and trial at another club but didn't get a contract, or try poach someone off a development contract elsewhere, or just someone else from NSW/QLD Cup or U20s that had a good year last year but isn't NRL contracted. But it is probably likely, especially if Morris left inside the first 5 weeks of the season that one of our development players would get the call up.

1) they have previously impressed enough we wanted to start paying them to keep them around
2) they are already training with the team full time
3) it's cheaper... we are already paying them potentially up to 75k so we just top it up a little and shift it into the cap

The longer the season goes on the more likely we would give the spots (Morris replacement and 30th squad spot) to other people.
ie if Wes Lolo was killing it for Jets and we felt we needed a prop he might jump anyone on the development list for a spot in the top 30.

We definitely need a big body out there, might be worth a bench spot sooner rather than later

Yeah, I don't think we should be carrying a back on our bench at the moment. Sorro, Nikora and Magoulias will need to cover any spots in the backs if we get an injury.

We need another potential leader in the pack, not another new bloke. Personally I’d be playing Sorensen at 13, simply because he’s been at the club a while and is at the age where a forward can improve. He’s no world beater, but he has the potential to set a standard in the middle, which at moment is what we’re lacking.

Desperate times...

Sorensen has made me eat my words this year, been way better than I was expecting.
